People choose Livigno for their holidays even during the months when it doesn't snow. In fact tourists are tempted by duty free shops where they can buy goods at a cheaper price than usual because no tax is paid on them. Till 1952 Livigno was isolated for 7-8 months a year and because of this the residents of Livigno were given a privilege. Even today all the goods in Livigno are 20% cheaper than in other villages.

Products you can buy at a reasonable price are cigarettes, cigars, alcoholic drinks, perfumes, chocolate, coffee, petrol, jewels, mobile phones, cameras and sports clothes.

Moreover shopping in Livigno is really interesting since shops are very particular and unusual. They are often on the ground floor of the cottages ("bait") where people live. The most modern and technological services and facilities are available in Livigno but they are perfectly well integrated with the natural surroundings and they create a warm and hospitable atmosphere.
